This weekend is a really special one for a very good friend. Zoe is a totally self taught artist: she'd been doing beautiful handmade cards for years, but when I saw her work at her home in Wells, Somerset, last year I knew that it had to "get out there" as it's quirky, whimsical and fun and brings a smile to your face. We all need a bit of cheering up at some point, and Zoe's work will do that.
I knew her work would look fantastic in the gallery, in the old horsebox and so I'm very excited about this weekend. Zoe is coming up from Wells on Sunday, so if you come over then, you'll get the chance to meet her!
Every afternoon there will be tea, coffee and home made cakes (yes, that's me slaving over the hot stove...) for sale- all proceeds to SHAPE. 10% of gallery sales will also be donated to SHAPE.
You can enjoy sitting in our old "retro" caravan, overlooking Coaley Peak, the River Severn and the Malverns, the Forest of Dean and if you crick your neck, Sugar Loaf Mountain at Abergervenny.... being served tea from retro melamine and china and even a hostess trolley to really get you in a retro mood!
Take a walk in the woods, or over to the Peak, or perhaps Uley Bury, to work up an appetite for that extra slice of cake and another tea, enjoy the coziness of the horsebox as you walk into another world, Zoe's world, of fantasy and whimsy.
We look forward to seeing you there!
PS you'll find the gallery at the very top of Knapp Lane, Coaley. The road has been resurfaced so you won't break your suspension and there's plenty of parking at the top in the woods!
